The Positive Impact of Hydroponics on Mental Health and Well-Being
Introduction:
In an era where staying positive can be challenging, many people are turning towards nature and its benefits. While conventional farming may not be accessible to everyone, hydroponics has become a popular alternative. Hydroponics is the science of growing plants without soil by using nutrient solutions and water. This technique, in addition to its environmental benefits, has been shown to positively impact mental health and well-being. In this blog post, we will look at how hydroponics affects our mental health and why it could be a solution for those struggling with anxiety, stress, and depression.
Managing Stress and Building Resilience
By Mrs. Abiola Akinbiyi
Let’s dive right in. When we talk about stress, it’s hard to ignore its impact and the importance of dealing with it effectively. I want to thank each and every one of you for being here, whether we’ve connected on LinkedIn or not. Your presence means a lot.
In our current landscape, both in Australia and worldwide, stress can stem from various factors within our diverse communities. But here’s the thing: you have the power to handle your own stress levels. Deepshikha has already shared valuable insights on stress management, so I won’t delve too deeply into that.
How to overcome challenges and manage Adversity
By Monica Deng
Adversity is an inevitable part of life, affecting us all regardless of age, ethnicity, background, or socio-economic status. We cannot predict when it will strike or how it will manifest, but it is how we respond to adversity that truly matters. Adversities can either make or break us, shaping our character and resilience for the future. So, how do we effectively manage adversity when it inevitably happens?
How to Turn Your Passion Into Profit
By Mr. Temitayo Adigun
As we delve into today’s topic, I feel a surge of excitement flowing through my veins. Allow me to challenge each and every one of you to explore your inner selves. What truly ignites your passion? That’s the fundamental question of my presentation. Once you’ve identified your deepest passion, ask yourself, “Am I giving it my all?” Today, I urge you to reflect upon the value you bring to the table. It goes far beyond merely securing a job or volunteering for an organization. It’s about making a difference. Value precedes profitability. By incorporating value into any environment, be it psychological, mental, or moral, we can elevate ourselves, just as the esteemed speakers before me have attested. Take Pierre, for example, who transformed from a physics professor into a business strategist. It’s all about value.
What is childhood adversity, effect of trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder?
By Dr. Beatrice Dupwa (PhD)
- Unraveling the Causes of Trauma
- Emotional and psychological trauma stems from highly stressful events that severely impact daily functioning.
- Examples include physical assault, verbal abuse, life-threatening medical conditions, acts of terror, or natural disasters.
- Examining Adversity and its Effects
- Adversity signifies misfortune, troubling situations, or hardships. There are six types of adversity, including self-doubt, physical injuries or illnesses, rejection, poverty, loss of a loved one, and struggling to succeed in one’s chosen career.
- How does childhood adversity shape later life? Children who experience trauma, such as witnessing the murder of a family member or sexual assault, face elevated risks of various psychiatric disorders, including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), conduct problems, substance abuse, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts and attempts.

Actualize your dreams with SMART ENOUGH TO BE STUPID
“Your real job in life is to figure out as soon as possible what that is, who you are meant to be, and begin to honour your calling in the best way possible”.
As quoted by Oprah Winfrey, If you’re breathing, you have a contribution to make to our human community. The real work of your life is to figure out your function- your path in the whole-as soon as possible, and then get along the business of fulfilling it as only you can. What I know for sure: There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honour your calling. It’s why you were born. And how you become most truly alive.
“We’re all called. If you’re here breathing, you have a contribution to make.”
