Sign up to become a volunteer of the Global Youth Mental Health Awareness

Are you passionate about mental health and helping us break the stigma and support young people and persons across the globe with their wellbeing?

GYMHA is seeking members for its 2021-22 Board. Board members meet once a month and make financial decisions and decisions that support the long-term sustainability of the organisation. Board members also support GYMHA volunteers to succeed and work across multiple areas of the organisation, including Treasury, Finance, Psychology, Management, and importantly – Governance. Thank you to everyone who has applied to become a board member. Please find a link to the nominee statements here. Board elections will be held on Saturday 30th October 2021 at 8pm (Melbourne time) via Zoom where everyone will have the opportunity to vote for who they believe would be the best fit to represent the board.

“The Global youth mental health awareness (GYMHA) Incorporated Vision was developed in response to the growing need to communicate and engage with professionals and the youth of the community, to tackle the issues associated with Youth Mental Health, and the stigma associated with those individuals who may seek aid. We are excited to welcome our new 10 board of directors who will help us accomplish our goal in creating a world where everyone, everywhere, can turn to someone who is able to support their mental health when needed”.

We are really thrilled to have them as a valuable member of GYMHAI family and we anticipate that their skills and experiences will be an asset to GYMHAI.

We look forward to working with all the new board members for the advancement of GYMHAI globally.

Thank you to all our members who attended the AGM and participated in the election. And great thanks to all our outgoing board members for their invaluable contributions over the years.

Our special thanks go to Dr. Dozie for facilitating the election, and Abbey Akinbiyi for her outstanding speech on Board leadership and Human development.

Please, watch out this space in the next edition for more details.

Our Vision

To make psychology a household term and to be an advocate for raising awareness and improving youth emotional and mental health outcomes.

What we want

We want a world where everyone, everywhere, can turn to someone who is able to support their mental health when needed.

Volunteers make GYMHA a real community and a thriving hub for community connection and services. GYMHA is always in need of people who are willing to help and share their time, talents and skills. We have different programs and activities where you can choose to help. If you don’t have the time to do volunteer works but you are very willing to help we will be very happy to accept any treasure you can share with GYMHA. If you have any ideas or projects in mind that you think will be very helpful to the community you can also share it with us.
