As we delve into today’s topic, I feel a surge of excitement flowing through my veins. Allow me to challenge each and every one of you to explore your inner selves. What truly ignites your passion? That’s the fundamental question of my presentation. Once you’ve identified your deepest passion, ask yourself, “Am I giving it my all?” Today, I urge you to reflect upon the value you bring to the table. It goes far beyond merely securing a job or volunteering for an organization. It’s about making a difference. Value precedes profitability. By incorporating value into any environment, be it psychological, mental, or moral, we can elevate ourselves, just as the esteemed speakers before me have attested. Take Pierre, for example, who transformed from a physics professor into a business strategist. It’s all about value.
When he initially joined, he was assigned small tasks, but as he proved himself, bigger tasks were entrusted to him. Now, I ask each and every one of you, what were you doing before? What are you doing now? In a world where everyone seems to be clamoring for higher salaries and wages, few are willing to increase their own value contribution. Let me reiterate: your net worth in life is directly proportional to the value you bring. The more value you add, the more invaluable you become. Until you provide value to your ecosystem, you will go unnoticed. Thus, it’s crucial for us to comprehend that before we can profit from our passions, there are three key elements we must prioritize.
Firstly, we must cultivate our capacity. What skills are you currently developing? In this age, everyone seems to aspire to become a data analyst.
Let’s embark on this eye-opening journey together as we explore the remaining two essential steps.
Everybody aspires to become a business process improvement person, a leader, a manager, or even a director and CEO. However, the real question is, do you possess the capacity to deliver value in the position you aim for? Can you deliver the desired results?
Before joining the board of UK Clean Up as one of their directors, I was fortunate enough to gain experience in non-profit work in Africa. This experience has proven to be invaluable in the UK charity ecosystem.
Now, as you attend this session today, are you actively building the capacity to achieve your desired greatness? Moreover, as you build your capacity, are you making yourself stand out in a positive way? It is not enough to build capacity; you must also transform that capacity into value.
When joining an organization, remember that it is just the first step. What is your aim? Don’t simply take up a job or become a volunteer. Aim to be a value-driven volunteer. Every volunteer opportunity has the potential to lead to greater profitable opportunities. If we fail to add value in a volunteer role or any environment, it becomes challenging to deliver value when we are paid for our services.
Furthermore, before we can turn our passion into profit, it is crucial to surround ourselves with a high-quality network. As they say, the quality of your network reflects the quality of your net worth. If we fail to build strong relationships with quality individuals, it becomes difficult to transform our passion into profit.
For instance, Pierre mentioned the importance of adding value to the business ecosystem. It goes beyond just education and volunteering; it entails identifying and solving problems. Passion fuels our drive, and profitability stems from the value we bring to the table.
Ladies and gentlemen, as you tune in today, let me share some valuable insights with you. It’s not enough to simply aspire for greatness. Are you prepared to put in the effort? Are you ready to develop the necessary skills? Can you make an impact without even trying? Are you willing to surpass the expectations placed upon you? Absolutely! Let me give you an inspiring example of a volunteer who rose to become the CEO of a charitable organization in Nigeria. This individual went above and beyond, turning their passion into profit. Now, let’s challenge ourselves to do the same by enhancing our capabilities, adding value wherever we go, and exceeding predefined metrics.
Don’t limit yourself to the tasks you’re assigned at the office or during volunteering. Instead, identify needs, offer solutions, and make a deliberate impact. Trust me when I say that intentionally enhancing your surroundings will ensure profit naturally comes your way. Just look at the world of technology today, where indispensable innovations are continuously adding value and attracting subscribers. The question is, how can you bring forth such value? Building capacity for financial freedom is crucial if we want to overcome financial stress.
In today’s world, no one will simply gift you money. Instead, people pay for your services or products. That’s why it’s vital to convert your passion into the services you offer or the products you create. Only then can you experience financial breakthroughs and avoid mental distress.
To conclude, let me leave you with this thought: in life, any dream is achievable. But beyond having passion, it’s essential to be fully committed. Can you commit more time to your career? Are you willing to make sacrifices? Remember, these are key elements on your path to success. Can you go the extra mile to become a valuable team member where we find ourselves? I’m delighted with today’s session and look forward to our next meeting. I hope we can share positive feedback on how we’ve progressed in our careers from struggling to fulfillment.
